Restaurant Reviews Los Angeles: Fig & Olive Restaurant Melrose Place by Foodie and French Chef Natacha Mannhart



This new restaurant is located in Melrose Place, West Hollywood, and is amazing. This restaurant has four locations in New York, and this is the first here in California.

The first thing I noticed was the bright, large open space and the softness of the green and white color. There are also some cozy booths with cushions in the bar area that have an ‘at home’ feel.

The menu is French Provencal Mediterranean. The Chef is from Mougin, near Cannes. With tasty dishes like the Cote d'Azur bouillabaisse and the famous "Striped Bass Papillote," a favorite of French people in the South of France.

Chef' Pascal Lorange's dishes are like the sunny scent and smell of the French Riviera food markets, full of color and flavor, such as the Zucchini carpaccio with parmesan, the warm goat cheese in fig leaf, and the dessert sampler from the Pastry Chef Andrew.

With the bread comes an assortment of olive oils, as you might expect because of the name. I also recommend the fig Gorgonzola tartlet...it's divine. Foodies, you will love it.
Warning: this place is packed on the weekend, and the bar and lounge area gets pretty busy too. Even so, the service is attentive, friendly and prompt. Ladies, the floor is a bit slippery, so be careful with your high heels. Open for lunch and dinner and brunch on the weekend. It's a must try in LA food scene.

Great location in West Hollywood, some live DJ lounge music on the week end, cozy seating tables near the bar.
